MiRC is probably the most popular traditional IRC client, written by a British Author, Khalid Mhardem Bay. Remember after downloading you must configure the software to connect to irc.chat.org.uk to meet up with chat.org.uk friends and acquaintances.

leafCHAT
A new IRC client, very pretty design. The developers say "A variety of similar programs are available, but we believe that leafChat is easier to use, more powerful, and better looking than the competitors". They are comparing themslves to software like Mirc and not next generation IRC clients like MaxxIM.
